I have not used this yet so don’t take this as an endorsement of quality or reliability. I have powered it up, set up some basic model settings and flashed ELRS firmware via wifi - all this works perfect…
With that out of the way - This is my ideal radio layout. I could rave for a long time about all the things I like about this transmitter. Firstly, and what really sold me on the T20, the flight mode buttons are finally intuitive instead of across the top. Upper left button is manual in case the FC malfunctions or my tune is horrid - my left thumb can rapidly find the manual button. Bottom right is RTL so if my video goes out or something bad happens - rapid press of RTL with my right thumb. No more counting across the top wasting precious seconds when milliseconds can make the difference.
Also the lower center sliders will be awesome for a fuel-powered twin motor plane. Or if you want to fly a quad in position hold - you can map throttle to the left slider and use the throttle and yaw (left stick for me) to control the gimbal. The slider will just be for altitude changes.
The tiny screen is surprisingly adequate. Coming from my tx16s, I was concerned about screen size impacting “quality of life” so to speak. I only ever use my screens to set up the mixer and use LUA’s, etc… so in reality, the T20 is fine for this.
The size is what I would call medium. It fits in my larger hands nicely - and is definitely bigger than my T-pro, but certainly smaller than the tx16s. I am impressed that they got all the buttons and switches on such a small radio.
I am not immediately convinced that I will like the two buttons SE and SF. I might have preferred switches there BUT - it looks like there might be two expansion ports where I can maybe install my own switches and swap the connection internally? Idk… I will have to see later.
